Western reactions...

Are almost overwhelmingly positive, both from contributors and punters, so we're dead happy.

My collaborator on Western, Kieron Gillen blogs about the book himself here:

All I can say is many thanks to Kieron for the stories I've been honoured to draw... it's been a pleasure sir.

Layer Zero: Choices

Here are my pencils for my pinup to the new anthology from Insomnia Publications.

Layer Zero: Choices is to debut at the upcoming Bristol con and I was pleased to be able to contribute a little image to it. I would have liked to have done more (maybe next time) but I don't have a great deal of spare time these days so a pinup was the best I could do.

I'm happy with the result, I've always had a thing for cyborgs and stuff like that... and this image came from a graphic novel idea called 'Mecha' that I'd still like to do someday.

Apologies for the poor quality of the image, the iPhone camera isn't too hot sadly.

I'll post the final inked version of the image when the book's been out.

WESTERN - back from the printers!!!

And there's the proof!!

What a nightmare this book has been (from a production point of view anyway) so I'm glad that it's all done and can now - hopefully - be a good seller for Accent UK.

It's a great book and if you enjoyed our other anthologies I think you'll like this one too.

At the moment Diamond distribution is unknown but copies will soon be going into shops we have a special relationship with (like Dan at Millennium Comics) and are, of course, available from the website www.accentukcomics.com

Righto, I've got my pinup image for Insomnia Publications Layer Zero: Choices anthology to finish, plus another pinup for Dave's Strange Times collection... lots on!

The Men Who Built The West

As WESTERN, the 2009 Accent UK anthlogy is back from the printers (should be getting some copies this weekend!) here's the full page 1 to my strip... sadly the last contribution to AUK from writer Kieron (Phonogram) Gillen.

Due to various circumstances I'm not very happy with my work on this strip, but I did the best I could with the time I had to work on it...

I am, however, very happy with the design work I did on the book... and can't wait to see the printed copies.

The next AUK book to be published, will be Dave West and Marleen Lowe's superb 'Whatever Happened to the World's Fastest Man' which again I have done design and production work on and given the non-comic pages the look of a newspaper. Hopefully something different to make it stand out.

I've also got a pinup in the book to, but haven't done that yet.

Robots review on Forbidden Planet Blog

Spotted this review today for ROBOTS on the Forbidden Planet blog.

Not too bad in all honesty, he picks out things he likes... and doesn't like... which seem to be anthologies in general but nice that he keeps an open mind.

Very nice to see a comment on my cover and also a mention for John and Leah's spooky 'Cabinet of Doctor Diablo' story that I was very honoured to draw.

So I'm very excited to be working with them again for PREDATORS... next year's Accent UK anthology.

In other news, WESTERN is at the printers, and due back in our grubby hands on March 21st!

More news soon.
