M Theory

Friend of Accent UK, Dwight MacPherson, has a new book coming out later in the year from Image/Shadowline called 'M Theory'. I was lucky enough to have done a logo for the comic in its early days - I was quite stunned to see they're using my logo for the actual book! Thanks Dwight!

Dwight's also contributing a tale for the next anthology 'Western' and has his book 'The Surreal Adventures of Edgar Allan Poe' nominated for an Eagle Award. Best of luck to you Dwight.

Wolfmen Review

Courtesy of those nice people at Whatever Comics.

Lovely stuff... you'd think we're paying them for this wouldn't you...

Fall Of The Wolfmen Limited Edition Poster

Getting 30 of these printed for the Bristol Comic Con...  they will be A3 in size and will be available for that con only. As there's no new WOLFMEN book this year we thought it a good idea to at least produce something new to show people who enjoyed the first book that we haven't forgotten about it. I am working on it, and it will be out next year... fingers crossed :-)

Robots Sketchbook

Currently working on the sketchbook for the Bristol Con, this was my entry... done a few months ago but still quite happy with it. Nice to get back to biro drawings too.

We had the numbers from Diamond for Robots - quite disappointing really, looks like it's up to Dave and Colin to sell as many as possible at Bristol and later on Copenhagen.

We went through the proofs from the printers the other night, and as all is ok, it should be being printed next week, all very exciting... fingers crossed everyone else likes it too.

Kieron Gillen - newuniversal: 1959

Many congrats to Kieron, who was kind enough to supply 2 superb scripts for our books, whose first gig for Marvel has just been announced.

Kieron's Blog

Can't thank him enough for jumping on board when he didn't know who any of us were and having his name attached to 'Zombies' and 'Robots' has helped raise the profile of our books immensely.

With Phonogram 2 in production as well, looks like this could be a very busy year for Kieron. Thanks again mate.

Cool Link

Dave West sent me this link to Whatever Comics website, where some nice things are said about our books...

Thanks for the kind words guys.

The Fall of The Wolfmen

Or Wolfmen 2... currently in development (I am working on it Dave, honest!).

Here's what could be the cover... or I may just keep it as a promo.

Above is pencilled sketch and final image.

The Wolfmen

Thought I'd post some Wolfmen images... this debuted at the Bristol Comic Con last year, and has since gone worldwide as we got it listed in Diamond Comics' Previews publication in September last year and was released overseas in December 2007.

Not giving too much away, it's basically a crime/horror title and centres on Jack Grey, a small time hood who dreams of being a big fish, and if that means getting in with The Wolfmen, the notorious London gang then that's what he'll do... even if it costs him everything he has.

It's kind of The Krays with a horror twist... it's available from the Accent UK website www.accentukcomics.com and finer comic shops over the country.

Robots Sample Pages

Here are 2 sample pages from the 'Robots' book I've done.

First page is from 'The Cabinet of Doctor Diablo' written by John Reppion & Leah Moore (Albion) and the second is from 'Robot' written by Kieron Gillen (Image Comics' Phonogram).

Accent UK Robots

I've become very involved with Accent UK Comics, a small press comics company set in the North West of England. I did a strip in one of their earlier anthologies 'Twelve" after Dave West saw some of my badly printed mini comics in Millennium Comics, Northwich.

One thing led to another and I'm now their 'art director' and oversee all the design and pre-production of the comics and also help with flyers and banners for conventions.

We hope that the quality of the books now has really helped push them beyond what people consider 'small press' to be. The reaction to 'Zombies' and 'The Wolfmen' when they launched at last years Bristol Comics Convention certainly made us think we're on the right track.

More about those later...

Robots is in the latest Previews catalogue and is due to be launched at this years Bristol Con.

I'm lucky enough to have done 2 strips inside. One with my collaborator on 'Zombies' Kieron (Phonogram) Gillen and also John Reppion and Leah Moore (Albion). There are some great strips and very talented creators inside the 204 page book that will retail for a bargainous £8.50 - order yours today!

Welcome to my new blog!

I tried this before but failed miserably on it... so second time lucky I guess.

Hoping to get this up and running quite quickly and will post some art and design bit and bobs over time.

Right... on with the show I guess!
